Bestselling series Palgrave Study Skills re-brands as Macmillan Study Skills

New series identity, refreshed digital resources and new titles including resources to aid student wellbeing

For more than 15 years, the Study Skills series has provided texts and digital resources to support students in the transition to university and in developing the core academic skills required to succeed on their course and in future careers. The new brand identity reflects the evolution of the series over almost twenty years, since it first launched as Macmillan Study Guides in 1999, branding as Palgrave Study Skills in 2003. The re-design aims to be instantly recognisable with a bold, modern look and feel.

The series has recently expanded into the wellbeing space with two new titles in this area, including Mindfulness for Students by bestselling author Stella Cottrell, and an additional title to follow in 2019. Research commissioned by UniHealthi last year revealed that 82% of students suffer from stress and anxiety. It is hoped that this range of titles will help students to manage the ups and downs of university life, by providing practical steps to help prevent stress or anxiety having an impact on their academic success or enjoyment of the higher education experience.

All new titles will be published under Macmillan Study Skills branding, and existing titles will be re-branded on re-print. Macmillan’s two digital study skills resources, skills4studycampus and Cite them right online will also benefit from updated logos and designs.

The comprehensive rebrand takes inspiration from the Macmillan Explorers, a new product line developed to offer curated etextbook resources to students, as well as Macmillan International’s new website (macmillanihe.com).
